Photo Album for Saturday, August 4, 2012

     I suppose the easiest way to get the pics out to everyone is to just post them in an album of sorts.  Lots of smiling faces on cachers and dogs alike, at  Queens' TB Rods and Dogs Meet and Greet. 

     Here's a bunch of pics taken by Bailie, aka WeenieQueen, and myself; also photos that have been shared on Facebook.  If anybody has more that they would like to share, it is never too late.   Enjoy !

And Then There's TB Vehicles

     Penni wasn't just thinking about the dogs when she booked this location.  The Reid Park location of Queens' TB Rods and Dogs Meet and Greet was perfect for the cars and trucks too.  Parking was right at the event site so no need to walk a mile carrying food and chairs.  And large spaces for those trucks, a few caches close by - again, what more could a cacher ask for?

If a cacher wondered by, and was not aware of the event, they would have just by the cars.  So many TB vehicles!  Neat.

And if there was a contest for the cutest little TB vehicle or the absolutely most obvious TB vehicle, then there is only one choice for a winner.

Congrats Dale!  But one question here - how do you take your kids anywhere with you? 

 

It Was A Family Affair

     I will give SchnauzerQueen for pulling off a great event. Queens' TB Rods and Dogs Meet and Greet was such a great success. But more than anything, I love that it was such a family affair.

     Georgia, no aka but Penni's Mom, Penni Parrish aka SchnauzerQueen and little sis, Bailie aka WeenieQueen.

Pups and Trucks Event - Not !

     Last night was the  Cache Queens' TB Rods & Dogs Meet N Greet in Tucson, Arizona.  And what an event it was.  By starting time, it was difficult to believe that this was a first for Penni Parrish.  She has never organized an event like this, and yet the crowd was there. 

     I remember a day when she first started this process, she said that she was hoping to get 20 - 25 cachers there.  "I'd be so happy if I could do that".  How about that x 3?  That is pretty much the count.  She hasn't done an exact total as of yet.  She and a brave party of cachers set off early this morning to do the Kasper Tunnel.  That will be a whole new story.

       Everyone was having a great time.  There were a few caches close by for the grabbing.  And the food ! What a nice spread.  A bit of something for everyone.  I don't know who brought the stuffed strawberries but they are worthy of a Food Network mention. Next event, I think I will do an all food post.  Yummm!

     This is Linda Wallace, aka Raven Art Studio.  This woman has such an electric aura.  You just feel it in the air.  I have been an admirer of her coins since I first began caching and was lucky enough to find one.  Great fun to meet Linda.

This is how the event ended.  The wind picked up a little bit and there was the smell of rain in the air.  To me, the promise of a cool down sounded perfect.  Time to chill out and share some stories.  I was all ears and ready for that one.  But I guess there are more people who pay attention to the sign or are some how related to the Wicked Witch of the West because the crowd just sort of disappeared and let just a few to do the story telling. 

     This post will be short and sweet as I have yet to learn the names of the attendees.  I will post a few pics in hope that someone out there will leave me an email or comment and fill in the names.  I guess, if there are a lot of cachers in the pic, maybe you can include the clothing color and name?  What ever works for you.  And I would love to know the dogs names also; and if they might just be tb dogs.  

     Look for more post in the next couple of days as the names become available.

     I've been so excited about my niece's, Penni, upcoming event, I forgot to include the CG.  So here it is, the directions to

TB Rods & Dogs Meet N Greet

     It's countdown time in the Tucson area.  SchnauzerQueen is organizing and sponsoring her very first event.  The Queens' TB Rods & Dogs Meet N Greet will be held at a dog friendly park in central Tucson.  I am not sure what sort of surprises she has in mind as far as challenges, games and prizes but I am sure it will be great fun. 

     This is a family friendly event and even if you don't have a Tb Dog or a TB stick on your vehicle, you are more than welcome to attend.  I believe she is only asking that if you a rain stick that you use it to bring in the clouds and cooler weather and please hold off on the actual rain until the bbq is done and the charcoal is cooling off. 

     Go to the Geocaching page for the event info or you can find Penni on her facebook page also.   Weather you live in the area, like a little road trip or just passing through, stop by.  And if there is anyone who has never Geocached in their life, this is a perfect time to come by and find out what it is all about.  I am sure there will be plenty of cachers with lots of stories and advise to share.  Best thing - you don't have to belong to a club, be a member or pay any kind of fees.  It is just a fun thing.

SchnauzerQueen Strikes Again

     SchnauzerQueen is taking the next step in the caching world.  Before I fill you all in on her next adventure, I will give you just a little back ground on her short but productive caching life.

     Since her caching beginning in November 2010, SchnauzerQueen, aka Penni Parrish, has covered a lot of ground.  And this from a girl who has never been able to stick with a hobby more than a very short time.  Not true with this hobby/sport/ habit/ addiction/you get the picture, that her BFF introduced her to.  Thanks Tim, for keeping her motivated and heading in the right direction.

Cache Queens' TB Rods & Dogs Meet N Greet

EVENT WILL BE HELD SATURDAY, AUGUST 4th, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Central located  Park Event.  Meet N Greet event.  Slap a leash on your TB pet, load up the family in your TB wagon, and haul your booties down to the park to enjoy a Tucson sunset with other cachers!

Just wondering - do you think meeting all those cute little pups and seeing all those TB vehicles at the Yuma Event #9 may have planted a seed?

WARNING -  there just a couple things to warn you about here.

     First - if you are not from the Tucson area, you may experience the sunset and decide to  tell you family at home that you are never coming home.  Just sayin'
  

     Second- bring your umbrella and rain poncho - it is monsoon season.  A little rain never stopped the die hard cacher but it never hurts to be prepared.
