International Geocaching Day 2012

International Geocaching Day is Saturday, August 18, 2012.  Where will you be celebrating this year?  Here in Arizona, there are a couple of events that have been very well planned so as not to interfere with each other.

First - we get an early start, before the temps it 100, in Scottsdale.  Our event organizer for this one is markj57 and as of this morning, there's over 60 cachers scheduled to attend.  And you know how it goes - if the weather is nice, at 6:30 am. the numbers may rise.  Also over 30 raffle prizes.

Here's the info on this event

  1. I'll be celebrating in Myrtle Beach, SC. I'll be on a long weekend mini-vacation and hosting an event to celebrate both IGD and the 2nd anniversary of OpenCaching North America (OC.us - NOT the GPS folks). This year, the dates coincide exactly, which is nice.

Naturally, it'll be listed on both sites:

    Happy (2nd) Birthday, OpenCachingNA! (SC)

  2. Thanks for the follow on Twitter. Nice blog here. As for International Caching Day -- I'll be hopefully hitting up a couple of events and finding at least five caches to claim my 2,900th find!
